This year the team made the long trek to Bolton for the last and most challenging event in our calendar - the EPSCA U11 Final. In fact, for some counties, the journey was a significant issue: delays on their coaches and trains caused the start of the tournament to be put back, and most of the Barnet team arrived with just 15 minutes left on their clocks for their first round matches. Twelve teams were competing in this year's Final.
Round 1 showed the strength in depth of the competition, as we scored 11 out of 20 to go into 6th place. Ominously, the only teams we lost to twice in Round 1 were Nottinghamshire and Kent (the eventual winners and 2nd placed team). A poorer performance in Round 2 left us out of contention for the medal places, but still in 6th overall.
After team photos we headed back to the hall for the final round where we scored 11½ points which moved us up one place to finish 5th, our best ever U11 finish at EPSCA!
Thanks to all the players for their excellent results, and also a big thank you to the parents for supporting your children (and getting them there!)
